Windsong

All of my projector shows, save Firestorm Dance Party, I run by hand using a slideshow clicker. I like to be able to tell the audience that they are seeing a performance, not a video. It's not only more exciting for them- it's also a thrill for me, and in no show more than Windsong. This show is so dynamic and hits so many cues in the music- it makes you feel like you are conducting a storm. This show packed quite a few interesting challenges for me. It boasts 110 light bulbs, 25 bolts of lightning, and 32 sparkles- all in all, sheer the bulk of animated elements for me to keep track of and change was definitely something to contend with. It also had a lot of overlapping videos and that brought me to one of the most creative solutions I had to come up with. I wanted to place a transparent storm over the fire on the oven but PowerPoint has no video transparency option. It does have a Reflection option that makes a opaque reflection of the video underneath it. I used Reflection for both the storm cloud and the rain in an earlier scene. In both cases, there is a solid, upside down version of those videos just above where you can see (or hidden under some other object).
